Cpl. Eric Casebolt, the McKinney police officer who made national headlines after he was captured on video drawing his gun on teenagers and pushing a teenage girl to the ground, has resigned.

McKinney Chief of Police Greg Conley addressed Casebolt's resignation in a press conference Tuesday afternoon.

"As a chief of police, I want to say to our community that the actions of [Officer Eric] Casebolt as seen on the video of the disturbance at the community pool are indefensible," said Conley. "Our policies, our training, our practice do not support his actions."

Conley continued: "He came into the call out of control, and as the video shows was out of control during the incident. I had 12 officers on the scene. And 11 of them performed according to their training. They did an excellent job."

According to Conley, other complaints had been leveled against Officer Casebolt, though he did not elaborate.

Conley said that while he doesn't condone the way individuals in the video treated the officers on scene and other members of the community, the police department is "held to a high standard of action."

Casebolt was placed on leave after the incident.
