Monday on The Chad Hasty Show GOP strategist Matt Mackowiak joined the show to talk about the latest news and events in politics and the general election which happens in less than 100 days.

Mackowiak and Hasty talked about both the GOP and Democrat conventions, Trump's Khan family controversy and discussed where Trump and Clinton currently stand in winning or losing November's general election.

Mackowiak, right now, believes Clinton will defeat Trump. He pointed out that the DNC had a broader appeal, adding that he thinks Clinton will get a bigger bounce than Trump did.

"It's an unpredictable election, it's going to depend a lot on the debates, we'll see how Trump performs over time, but right now I have pretty low confidence he's going to win the election," Mackowiak told Hasty.

Mackowiak also touched on Trump's handling of DNC speaker Khizr Khan's criticism, which ballooned into its own controversy.

"I took tremendous offense at how [Trump] handled that," Mackowiak said.

In the days following Mr. Khan's speech, the GOP nominee said Khan, a Gold Star father, "viciously attacked" him. Trump also criticized his wife Ghazala for not speaking herself at the DNC, alleging it was because her religion prevented it.

The couple lost their son, Army Capt. Humayun Khan, during an attack in Iraq in 2004. The Khans are Muslim.

"We have a nominee who cannot control himself," Mackowiak said.
