A Lubbock man found himself being assaulted and threatened in a local Whataburger on Wednesday, March 2nd.

Lubbock police officers initially responded to reports of a civil disturbance at around 10:45 p.m. They arrived at the location in the 1700 block of 19th Street and found the unidentified victim who told them what happened.

The victim said that a woman who he was previously in a relationship with entered the building, started throwing things at him and struck him multiple times. Soon after, two more people entered the building, one of which was displaying a gun.

Apparently, the woman was upset because of a post made on social media. What exactly was said in the post or who made it wasn't clear.

KAMC News reports that police examined surveillance footage from Whataburger, and it confirmed what the victim had said.

The victim was taken to Covenant Medical Center for injuries he sustained during the altercation. So far, none of the three suspects involved have been located.
