Pritchard's bond has been set at $50,000. The Manslaughter charge against him is a second degree felony.

Sunday evening, a multi-vehicle accident occurred at 50th Street and Indiana Avenue in Lubbock just before 6:30 p.m.

According to the Lubbock Police Department, a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 50-year-old Sammy Castaneda was stopped at a red light on eastbound 50th Street. That's when the motorcycle was rear-ended by a Ford F-150 pickup driven by 49-year-old James Albert Pritchard.

In the immediate aftermath of the collision, both Pritchard and Castaneda's vehicles collided with two other vehicles.

Castaneda was taken to UMC where he later died from his injuries.

Pritchard suffered minor injuries and was taken to UMC for treatment. Officers at the scene of the accident believed he may have been driving under the influence.

After Pritchard was released from UMC he was arrested, charged with Manslaughter and booked into the Lubbock County Jail.

The Lubbock Police Department Accident Investigation Team is continuing
to investigate the crash.
