A Lubbock woman stopped a potential burglary of her home after she threatened to shoot the burglar with a firearm.

On Thursday, September 3rd at around 6:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 3500 block of 35th Street.

KAMC News reports the victim was in her home, getting her 4 children ready for school, when she heard knocking at her front door. She said she looked through the window and saw the suspect walk away then throw a rock at the window.

The victim told her children to hide in the bathroom while she ran to her bedroom to get her gun. She pointed it at the front window and said "Don't do it, I'll shoot."

Afterwards the suspect threw a brick at the front window, shattering the glass. The suspect then fled from the home.
