Twenry-one-year-old Madison Vanarsdale was arrested after reports say she kicked in a neighbor's door while publicly intoxicated on Wednesday, June 10th.
KAMC News reports it happened a bit after 10 p.m. in the 3200 block of 35th Street. The victim, Jimmy James, heard loud booms at his door and grabbed his gun.
After hearing the second boom and seeing his door getting kicked in, James fired 2 shots through the door, which struck a friend of Vanarsdale's who was attempting to check on her.
That friend, who remains unidentified, took her away from James' apartment and drove her to the 3500 block of 25th Street.
Officers arrived on scene and placed Vanarsdale under arrest. During the arrest, she reportedly collapsed her body weight to make officers carry her, then kicked the window of the patrol vehicle when placed into it.
Officers eventually restrained Vanarsdale and took her to the Lubbock County Detention Center, where she was charged with burglary, resisting arrest and public intoxication.
