Lubbock Toddler in Critical Condition after Being Strangled by Jump Rope

A Central Lubbock toddler is in critical condition after her mother found her with a jump rope wrapped around her neck. The four year old child was taken to UMC this afternoon after emergency responders received a possible deceased person call.

The mother told emergency personnel she found her daughter unresponsive shortly after she put the little girl down for a nap. She thought her daughter was dead when she discovered a jump rope tied around the four-year-old’s neck.

Investigators say the incident appears to be accidental. They continue to look into the case and so far have no suspects.
