The Lubbock City Council will once again take of the issue of stormwater rates this week at their regularly scheduled meeting.

At the previous meeting council members voted no to reconstitute the ad hoc committee responsible for the rates that were implemented in January.  Council members and Mayor Glen Robertson have urged the public to contact their council member or to attend council meetings to provide feedback on the rates.

The 2nd reading on amendments to the Oil and Gas Drilling Ordinance that includes an increased well setback distance of 600-feet and the creation of an Advisory Committee will take place at the meeting.

Council members will also vote on purchasing 31 cars and trucks for the Lubbock Police Department, and one car for the Fire Marshal’s Office.
