
Ex-Lubbock High School Coach Faces Allegations of Sexual Assault With Student
Update as of 8/25: Lubbock Police Department (LPD) is asking victims and witnesses to come forward with any information that could aid the investigation towards Jeremy Maxfield.

A former Lubbock ISD teacher and high school coach was recently arrested after allegations of sexual assault and improper relationships with students were discovered.
Sexual Assault of Lubbock High School Students
41-year-old Jeremy Maxfield was first employed at Lubbock High School in 2007 before resigning in 2024 after allegations arose of sexual assault towards one of his students.
Maxfield was arrested on August 20, 2025 and charged with four counts of sexual assault towards a child, and one count of improper relationship between an educator and student.
The alleged crimes occurred in October, November, and December of 2019. Maxfield, a track coach and English teacher at the time, was accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with an underage student on numerous occasions, according to Everything Lubbock.
The sexual contact was alleged to have happened in Maxfield's classroom as well as on school grounds. He was also accused of sending explicit and nude images of himself to the victim on his phone.
As of Friday, August 22, Maxfield remains at the Lubbock County Detention Center on a combined bond of $150,000 for his five separate charges.
