Lubbock Police Searching for Suspect Who Robbed a Family Dollar at Gunpoint

Authorities are searching for the suspect who robbed a Family Dollar at gunpoint in East Lubbock on Tuesday, December 7th.
The Lubbock Police Department received reports of the robbery at approximately 9:20 p.m. at the Family Dollar location in the 2600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Store employees say the suspect threatened them at gunpoint. The suspect wanted money from inside the safe but none of the employees had keys, so they just gave the suspect what was in the store’s cash register.
The suspect then told the employees to lay on the ground and from there he fled the scene. As of this time, no suspects have been named in this case.
Law enforcement did not give a description of the suspect, but store employees described the suspect as a 40 to 45 year-old black male, 5 foot 8 to 10 inches in height, and weighing around 180 pounds. Surveillance video showed the suspect wearing a dark gray hoodie and black pants.
