Two separate violent incidents occurred over the weekend in Lubbock. One was a stabbing, and the other was a shooting.


One person was left with moderate injuries after a stabbing in East Lubbock on Friday, August 27th, 2021.

The Lubbock Police Department responded to the incident just after 11:30 p.m. on Friday to the 3300 block of East Bates Street. Upon arrival, a victim was found with moderate injuries.

As of Saturday afternoon, no arrests have been made. An investigation into the stabbing is ongoing.


An individual sustained serious injuries after a shooting in Central Lubbock on Monday, August 30th, 2021.

Lubbock Police responded to shots fired around 1 a.m. Monday morning to 45th Street and Avenue P. Authorities say one person suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.


Both of these cases are being investigated and will be updated as information becomes available.
