Lubbock Police Investigate Woman Stabbed and Left for Dead
The Lubbock Police Department is investigating the death of someone in a Lubbock neighborhood as a potential homicide.
According to one report, a body was found and reported to police Monday night, Sept. 21, around 11:30 p.m. Police later posted about the incident on social media on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 2:30 a.m.
Monday night, officers responded to the 1800 block of East Colgate Street and located the body, which has now been identified as 26-year-old Kyera Jones.
After initial reports, police say that Jones was alive when officers arrived at the scene, but was suffering from a life-threatening stab wound.
Jones was quickly taken by EMS to University Medical Center, but did not survive and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The LPD’s Metro Special Crimes Unit is currently investigating the death as a homicide and are searching for a potential suspect.
