Lubbock Police Ask Community if They’ve Seen man who Shot at car
The Lubbock Police Department is currently searching for a suspect involved in a possible road rage incident that occurred back in 2022. The Lubbock Police Department was dispatched to the 2900 block of Hartford Avenue around 10 p.m. in December of 2022. The call was said to have been due to reports of shots fired heard in that neighborhood.
Through an investigation it was determined that the victim was traveling in the 3200 block of 34th Street when they passed an SUV just ahead of them. That SUV then pursued the victim to the 3300 block of 33rd Street where both vehicles stopped before the driver of the SUV got out of the vehicle and then opened fire. At the scene Lubbock Police Officers discovered a woman who was the victim to being shot at but did not sustain any injuries from the incident.
The shooting was caught on video surveillance camera and shows a man getting out of an SUV before firing several rounds at a van. It is currently believed that the man opened fire on the victim due to road rage. There is a female passenger with the suspect and some movement from the back seat as he exits the vehicle, which seems to be in Chevrolet Tahoe.
Most Chevrolet Tahoe's don't seem to have a height that exceeds 77 inches as the suspect can be seen being almost the same height. This does mean that the suspect is possibly between 70 inches (5'8") and 77 inches (6'4") which is the standard minimum and maximum height for that vehicle. The suspect is also believed to be white or hispanic and wearing glasses.
The Lubbock Police Department is urging anyone with information such as the identity of the suspect to call Crime Line at 806-741-1000. Anyone with information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a reward and anyone who calls can remain anonymous.
