On Tuesday, May 5th, Lubbock police arrested 28-year-old Priscilla Baltazar and 28-year-old Michael Anthony Espinoza for abandonment of a child.

At around 9:15 p.m. that night, officers were called to the 2800 block of 42nd Street after reports came in for a child wandering on the sidewalk.

A police report said that the child was wearing "a soaked diaper with urine and a t-shirt with no shoes."

KAMC News reports the officer took the child to a specific house and found 4 more children inside with no adult. The officer observed miscellaneous trash, clothing and animal feces around the house.

One of the children thought their mother was still at work, but Baltazar didn't disclose her location after police reached her by cell phone. She later told police she was shopping for groceries with Espinoza.

A family member says that the kids had been left alone on many different occasions.

Espinoza posted bond to get out of jail the afternoon of Thursday, May 7th, but Baltazar remained jailed in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond that afternoon.
