Lubbock Police Arrest East Texas Man for Online Solicitation of Minor

Lubbock Police Department Investigators have arrested a man in east Texas on 12 counts of Online Solicitation of a Minor. The LPD Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force worked with investigators from the Leauge City Police Department to apprehend 50-year-old Nilanjan Brahma after a nine month undercover investigation.

Brahma allegedly believed he was talking to a 13-year-old female online when he solicited sex and provided lewd photographs of himself to an undercover officer. He also made plans on multiple occasions to travel to Lubbock to meet with who he thought was an underage girl, although these trips never took place.

He was taken into custody and placed in the Galveston County Jail, where he posted bond. He faces from 2 to 20 years for each of the twelve counts and fines not to exceed $10,000 per count.
