An annual event will be held this week.

The 30th annual National Night Out kick-off will be held on Tuesday, October 1st at Guadalupe Park, located at 1st Street and Avenue P.

The event will run from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m.

The event will feature discussion regarding crime prevention awareness led by Lubbock Police Chief Roger Ellis and Criminal District Attorney Matt Powell, and will feature live music, free food and beverages.

Lubbock ISD Superintendent Berhl Robertson, Jr. and other area school leaders will be in attendance as well.

The event is free and open to the public, and aims to strengthen the neighborhood spirit and the police community partnership with residents.
