Lubbock Meals on Wheels Warns Public About Phone Scam

Lubbock Meals on Wheels is warning the public about a new phone scam where someone asks for donations on their behalf.

The organization says that the scammer is using a phone number with the area code 575. The non-profit wants to remind everyone that they do not call to ask for donations over the phone.

If you think you have been targeted by a scam artist, you can report the incident to Lubbock police by calling (806) 775-2865. Meals on Wheels also says you can call them at (806) 792-7971 for any questions about the scam.
