On Wednesday, May 4th, a Lubbock man pleaded guilty to attempted production of child pornography.

KAMC News reports that 47-year-old Casey Earl Bratcher was with his family and the 12-year-old victim at Lak Alan Henry back in May of 2021. How exactly the victim was related to Bratcher was not made clear.

While there, Bratcher's wife had discovered sexually explicit messages on the victim's phone from Bratcher. The messages were apparently of Bratcher asking the girl to make sexual videos of herself.

After being confronted about it by his wife, Bratcher went to Lubbock Police to confess. He said that he had sexually abused the victim from when she was only 11-years-old.

A short time after the trip to Lake Alan Henry, Bratcher would take to social media to post "I can never take back what I did and I am sorry not because I got caught but because I ruined everyone's life so long to everyone."

In the plea deal, Bratcher admitted that if the videos he requested from the girl had been made, they would have been child pornography. He now faces a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years in federal prison if the plea deal is accepted.
