Lubbock Man Arrested in Connection to Hit and Run Crash
Lubbock Police arrested a man Wednesday night in connection to a hit and run crash that seriously injured one person earlier in May.
Local police responded at around 2 a.m. on May 3rd to a 2-vehicle crash at 19th Street and Slide Road. Apparently, the crash was caused due to the driver of a Lincoln passenger car disregarding a red light.
The Lincoln, which was heading north, struck a Nissan that was heading east.
The driver of the Lincoln, later identified as 38-year-old Phillip Rios, fled the area on foot. The driver of the Nissan, 21-year-old Aaron Weseman, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
A warrant for Rios' arrest was issued on Tuesday, and he was located Wednesday by the Texas Anti-Gang Center at the Koko Inn, located in the 5200 block of Avenue Q.
