A Lubbock man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on Wednesday, October 9th, after allegedly shooting toward his neighbor.

Lubbock Police responded to the 500 block of East Kent Street after a neighbor heard multiple gunshots coming from a house belonging to 40-year-old Luther Helmstetler.

The neighbor attempted to investigate but fled after a loud gunshot came from inside Helmsteter's residence. They called police immediately after.

KAMC News reports that Helmstetler surrendered and was able to post bond.

This case remains under investigation.
