A Lubbock man has admitted that he attempted to have a paid sexual encounter with a 16-year-old.
KAMC News reports that an agent with the Texas Department of Public Safety was posing as a 21-year-old woman. The suspect, 30-year-old Zachary Daniel Pena, had made an arrangement with the agent to pay for sex.
The agent told Pena that they were with their 16-year-old friend, so Pena agreed to pay $150 to have sex with both the minor and the undercover agent. It's said that he discussed some of the sexual acts he wanted to perform on the two "in graphic detail."
On May 5th, 2021, Pena arranged to meet up with the two, but when he arrived, he was instead greeted by officers. He now faces a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life in prison.
