A Lubbock man has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a girl that hadn't yet turned 14-years-old.

28-year-old Donovan Picon pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child on Tuesday, December 6th. He originally had 5 charges against him, but the other charges were dropped.

KAMC News reports that the offense happened back in 2020. It's said that Picon sexually assaulted a girl who was under the age of 14.

That girl told her school counselor that she had been sexually assaulted, and when she talked to police, she said that she had met Picon on Snapchat. She said that he would give her gifts for sexual favors.

KFYO previously reported that Picon allegedly told the victim that he wanted to keep seeing her until she turned 18, and when she did he would get her pregnant and start a family with her.

Picon was arrested back in May of 2022. When he was questioned by police, he said that he would redo things if he was given the chance. He now faces 25 years in prison.
