A Lubbock City Councilman has announced plans to introduce a resolution that would create a new citizen committee.

District Three Councilman Todd Klein says that he will bring forth a resolution that would create a citizens advisory committee to address needs and issues faced by local veterans.

Klein weighed in, saying “Having visited with many veterans as well as attending numerous veterans meetings and events during my tenure on the City Council, I feel it is beneficial and much desired to bring forth an agenda item regarding veterans services before I leave office.”

Klein continued, saying “Included in this effort is the call for a citizens advisory committee to focus on veterans affairs.”

Klein did not elaborate on when the item would appear on the City Council agenda.
