Lubbock Animal Services Stops Intakes and Adoptions For Now
Lubbock Animal Services announced on Monday that they would be temporarily halting taking in dogs and cats as well as suspending its adoption program due to an animal illness.
Lubbock Animal Services did not go into detail about the possible illness, but did announce in a press release that they are awaiting lab results due to an "animal illness". According to a press release "out of an abundance of caution" Lubbock Animal Services will not be taking in any animals or adopting out any animals until further notice.
Lubbock Animal Services (LAS) is temporarily suspending all intakes and adoptions while waiting for laboratory diagnostics related to an animal illness. Out of an abundance of caution, no animals will be accepted at LAS at this time, and no adoptions will be processed until further notice.
Additionally, only City of Lubbock LAS staff will be permitted in the facility. The facility will be closed to the public, and no volunteers will be permitted until further notice.
