Lubbock Police Department's Public Information Officer Lt. Ray Mendoza joined Lubbock's First News Monday (June 15).

Mendoza addressed a drive by shooting that occurred about 1 a.m. this morning in the 1900 block of 38th Street. One person was injured as he was walking towards his residence. The victim was shot at least one time, but is in satisfactory condition. Investigators hope to know more later today.

Mendoza also addressed a car crash in the 4300 block of 98th that left one person with life-threatening injuries. The accident occurred when a vehicle driving eastbound veered into oncoming traffic.

Mendoza urged people who may have information about any crimes to call the Crime Line at (806) 741-1000.

"They can remain anonymous if they like," said Mendoza. "They're also eligible for a reward."
