Tuesday afternoon (August 18), two people were killed and two more were injured in a one-vehicle rollover accident in northeast Lubbock. 

The accident occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. at East Loop 289 and the Idalou Road. A 2005 Ford Explorer traveling eastbound blew a tire, causing the vehicle to spin out of control and off the embankment on to 3600 Parkway Drive.

The driver, Tazmin Castillo (21), and left rear passenger, Alina Trevino (2), were partially ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Andrew Paul Trevino (22) and his one-year-old son Andrew were transported to UMC with non-life threatening injuries.

The LPD Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate.
