Lowe’s Customer Films Alleged Theft; Police Investigating
On Saturday, August 21st, a customer of Lowe's Home Improvement in Lubbock recorded themselves confronting 3 people they believed stole the items in their cart.
In the video, the customer is seen walking towards the suspects asking if they had walked off with the items they had in their cart. One of the men claimed that he had a receipt, while another said that the customer didn't have permission to record them.
The customer claims that the cashier asked to see the men's receipt but they ignored the request, and since the employees "cannot leave the store," they went after the suspects. Allegedly, the cashier said that one of the suspects had done this multiple times.
A little bit after the initial confrontation, the car is seen driving off, leaving some of the items behind in the cart and hitting a separate cart as they drove away. The customer was asking why they left their items if they had a receipt.
An employee of the store, located at 5022 West Loop 289, said that 2 of the 3 men had left the store with several items, making no effort to pay for them. The 3rd man was allegedly waiting in the driver's seat of the car outside.
KAMC News reached out to the Lubbock Police Department a few days after the alleged incident to ask if there were any updates in the case, but a response hasn't been noted.
