Thursday on Lubbock's First News, David Speer, Director of Bands for Terra Vista Middle School, gave details on the upcoming middle schools bands concert series.

Speer said, "I'm an avid proponent of community bands... I just love sharing my musical gifts--and not for a trophy or accolades; just to share music with people. That's something a lot of times we don't get our kids out in the world and doing that." He said this led him and others to put together a series of concerts of patriotic music. Friday April 11 at 9:45 a.m., the Frenship Middle School Band will play in the Frenship Auditorium; at 10:00 a.m., the Heritage Middle School Band will play the the Randy Neugebauer Park; and at 10:30 a.m., the Terra Vista Middle School Band will play at the Silent Wings Museum. On that day, admission to the Silent Wings Museum will be $2.
