Today, former Lubbock City Manager Lee Ann Dumbauld has announced that she's running for the Republican nomination for Lubbock County Commissioner, Precinct 1.

The office is currently held by Commissioner Bill McCay. In a press release for her campaign, Dumbauld criticized McCay for what she calls, “… his lack of business-based leadership and his lack of commitment to prudent financial principles.”

Dumbauld also named several concerns she hopes to address if elected.

"I am alarmed that Lubbock County’s growth and viability is jeopardized by the current Precinct 1 commissioner’s incomprehensible decisions on the medical examiner’s office, the inappropriately selected and expensive technology acquisition, not to mention the voting machines’ replacement," she said.

Dumbauld holds a bachelors degree in Finance from the University of Illinois, and a master’s degree in Finance from Millsaps College of Mississippi. She currently serves as the Finance Manager for the Lubbock County Tax Assessor’s Office.
