Landry Shares Reasons For Opposing Burrows In Texas House Race [INTERVIEW]
Thursday on The Chad Hasty Show, Drew Landry joined Chad in the KFYO studio to discuss issues facing the citizens of West Texas. Landry is challenging Representative Dustin Burrows for his District 83 seat in the Texas House.
Landry, a professor of government at South Plains College, talked about his experience, answered questions, and discussed with Hasty the reasons why he is challenging Burrows, as well as issues he considers important in the race.
School funding and school choice, standardized testing, sanctuary cities and illegal immigration, handgun licensing and "constitutional carry" were among the topics discussed.
Hasty pointedly asked Landry how he would voted on a number of issues. When asked how he would vote on "constitutional carry" Landry replied,
I would vote no on that. It is not an undue burden for somebody to go get a license. I think a lot of responsible gun owners don't want un-responsible gun owners to be able to carry around whatever weapon that they want, and I think it is perfectly fine for any person to go get a license and to take that class and to do those things. That's well within your confines of being responsible.
