David Guenthner is the senior communications director of the Texas Public Policy Foundation.   On Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, he said universities that ignore the growing trend of learning over the internet will be left behind.

“Bill Gates from Microsoft…his position is within the next few years, you’re going to have all the best researchers and all of the best lecturers online, basically for free,” Guenthner said.  “The universities that get out in front of this trend will do very well.”

Guenthner said those universities that continue to invest in brick and mortar and ignore what’s happening  in education “will be broken by it.”
