
14-Year-Old Girl Dies After Being Stabbed By Another Middle School Student in Texas
A fight between two 14-year-old girls at a Texas middle school turned deadly this week.
Authorities were called out to Roy J. Smith Middle School in Killeen, Texas on Monday morning according to Click2Houston.com. When police arrived to the school they found that a 14-year-old girl had been stabbed. She was transported to a hospital, but passed away from her injuries at 12:21 pm that day.
According to authorities, two 14-year-old girls got into a fight or "dispute". During the fight one of the girls allegedly stabbed the girl who later passed away. Police have arrested the other 14-year-old, but as of this time haven't announced any charges.
According to Click2Houston.com, due to the ages of both the victim and suspect, neither of their names will be released.
ABC13 reported that the campus was briefly locked down during the time. The Killeen Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division is leading a homicide investigation along with support from school district police.
Investigators asked for the public's patience as they continue their investigation into what happened.
“We recognize the emotional impact of this incident on the victim’s family, students, staff, and the entire Killeen community. Our thoughts are with everyone affected, and we extend our support to those in need,” the Killeen Police Department said “We ask for the public’s patience and cooperation as detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division continue their investigation.”
Classes for Roy J. Smith have been suspended until after Spring Break on March 24. Support services will be made available for staff and students.
