Republican Strategist and former Chief Strategist for the Ted Cruz Presidential Campaign, Jason Johnson, joined The Chad Hasty Show on Tuesday to share his thoughts and analysis on the latest news regarding the meeting between Texas House Speaker Dennis Bonnen, Rep. Dustin Burrows, and Michael Quinn Sullivan of Empower Texans. Sullivan secretly recorded the meeting in which he claims he was offered media credentials if he targeted only certain Republican House members.

On Monday it was reported that Sullivan had released the audio to the Texas Rangers who are investigating the meeting.

Johnson discussed the issue at length claiming he didn't believe Sullivan would release the audio to the public due to Sullivan's own "personal interests, selfish interests". Johnson, who said he hadn't heard the audio but had spoken to may who had, said that Sullivan "overplayed his hand" in not releasing the audio.

Johnson also discussed what he believes Sullivan's intentions are which Johnson believes is Sullivan wanting the Speaker to resign and for the Governor to call a special session.

He's attempting to circumvent the whole process. It's like Jerry Nadler and the whole impeachment game with the President. At this point based upon the way Sullivan is acting, the only difference between he and Nadler is an election certificate and two hundred pounds.
