The day we have all been waiting for is close upon us...

That's right, the infamous competitive hot dog eater Joey Chestnut will head to the Lone Star State to face U.S. soldiers in El Paso for a hot-dog-eating contest.

Normally, around this time of year, Mr. Chestnut would be in Coney Island for the Nathan's hot dog contest-of which he has won every year since 2015-but now he's heading to the opposite end of America.

You see, Nathan's barred the reigning champion from entering this year's contest because of a controversial decision to sign a deal with a rival hot dog company. Talk about a food feud...

The great hot dog scandal of our generation

This really put Joey in pickle, as he now has to relinquish his title for the time being and set his sights elsewhere.

That's where El Paso comes in to play. Chestnut was thrilled, to say the least, when Fort Bliss extended an invitation.

It all goes down on July 4th at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX.

What are Joey Chestnut's greatest achievements?

FRANK-ly, I am both appalled and amazed at what this man can do with not just a hot dog, but other food as well.

  • 76 Nathan's hot dogs in 10 minutes
  • 141 boiled eggs in 8 minutes
  • 55 glazed donuts in 8 minutes
  • 121 Twinkies in 6 minutes
  • 32 Big Macs in 38 minutes
  • and much more

In fact, just earlier this year Joey won another contest.

Sounds like he's full of bologna, if you ask me...
