Monday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin, Congressman Jodey Arrington joined Dave and Matt to talk about socialism, Trump and tariffs, NAFTA, granting amnesty to illegal immigrants, and more.

Rep. Arrington started the discussion by saying that he had spent the past week down in Abilene with a visit to the veteran cemetery to pay his respects, but that now he's back in Washington and has a warning.

The representative said that he is concerned about the idea of a socialism-type of government in America, and that others should be, too. Rep. Arrington went on to say that the United States is not the greatest country because of its government, but because of the free markets, free people, and free exchange of ideas and products.

He warned that a socialism-based government could threaten all of that and could take away the people's power to fight their way back out.

The congressman was also asked about President Trump imposing tariffs on Mexico in an effort to slow down immigration and if he thought the plan was any good.

Rep. Arrington said that he doesn't think the plan will do any good, but that he understands Trump's desire to put pressure on Mexico and try to slow down immigration.
