Jodey Arrington Talks Border Security and Government Shutdown
Monday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin, Congressman Jodey Arrington joined Dave and Matt to talk about the government shutdown, border security, Nancy Pelosi, and more.
Congressman Arrington kicked off the conversation by expressing that he thinks that this year will really start well if the United States is able to get border security measures in place to keep American citizens safe. When asked how long he thinks the government shutdown will last and how it will end, Arrington said that he thinks it will go on for a few weeks and then hopefully end with democrats willing to work with the president, but doesn't think that Trump will make people wait long. "Here's what I think is going to happen: I think the president is going to declare national emergency," Arrington said, going on to say, "This is a crisis. This is a national security crisis, and there is imminent threat to our citizens, and I can not imagine the president waiting a whole lot longer before he just says 'I am not waiting on congress. I'm going to do what I believe is right.' Now the courts may have to determine whether he in fact has the legal standing to do it, but I believe that's how its going to end."
Arrington also talked about Nancy Pelosi's comment that having the border wall would be "immoral", a statement that Congressman Arrington thinks is ridiculous and must have been something that she misspoke about. He said that if she really believes that, that she should take down the walls and fences that protect her home and congress.
