Lubbock has seen far too many businesses closing lately, and it is heartbreaking for not just the owners, but their customers.

Unfortunately, Brooklyn Pizzeria & Wing Bar is meeting the same fate.

They announced last month that they would be temporarily closed for major plumbing repairs. There had been ongoing problems that were too much of a nuisance, so they shut down to get it taken care of. They also used this as an opportunity to rebrand the restaurant, changing up their food service.

This change meant that they wished to sell everything to start fresh and held a dining room furniture and kitchen equipment sale during their temporary closure.

As of July 8, 2023, the plumbing repairs had yet to be started on, leaving the business owner, Richie Perry, no choice but to move on. While it is sad to see them go, they have plans to continue running other businesses in Austin, Texas.

Perry stated in a farewell post to the LBK Foodies page:

"Not at a total loss though. I've been in Austin growing my companies for the last 18yrs and always had it in the back of my mind to one day come home and open one there, which I did. ALSO, In the past couple of years- I was able to see friends I hadn't seen in years, spend time with family I hadn't seen in years, rebuild relationships with people that were very important to me growing up, and enjoy the freedom of wide streets and no traffic."
