The week has come to a wrap which means that the weekend is here, and it is time to make some plans with your friends and family. There is always a great variety of events happening in and around Lubbock each weekend, and this is my way of helping you make some plans without the stress of hunting for everything yourself.

From a cultural celebration to a Lubbock classic, there are some great events happening on June 7th through the 9th.

3rd National Puerto Rican Day and Friends Fest

Latino Lubbock Magazine, Mano Negra Brewing Co. and Carlitos Way Foods are hosting this special event at the Cactus Alley Courtyard to celebrate Puerto Rican culture, heritage, and people. There will be a variety of things to enjoy including live pro wrestling, music, food trucks, a kids fun zone, salsa lessons, and more.

This event will be on Sunday, June 9th from noon to 7:00 p.m.

First Friday Art Trail

A true Lubbock classic, this Friday, June 7th, is the first of the month. So, LHUA, CASP, and other local organizations and businesses will be hanging out, showing off local artists, vendors, and more. This is a great time to get together with your friends, walk around, and enjoy Lubbock’s art district.

Farmers Market

Saturdays in Lubbock are great for anyone looking to walk around a farmers market. There are two big ones in the area, including the Wolfforth Farmers Market and the Downtown Lubbock Farmers Market. Both feature a variety of great vendors for you to shop from.
