Banana Pudding Festival

Just a short drive outside of Lubbock, the Texas Banana Pudding Festival is taking place this Saturday in Slaton, TX. Hosted for the first time ever, Slaton Bakery will have four different puddings for guests to try, along with a variety of vendors, music, and more. It starts at 10:00 a.m. and will happen just outside of the Slaton Bakery.

You can simply come and enjoy the ambiance, or buy a pudding pass to get samples of all four pudding flavors, including:

  1. "Church Lady Banana Pudding"
  2. "Whiskey Banana Pudding"
  3. "5 Star Pudding" with layers of Banana Nut Bread
  4. "Texas Delight"

Pin Up Pajama Party

This Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., Hub City Rockabilly is hosting a Pin Up Pajama Party at Quirky Retro Boutique. There will be a Pin Up 101 class, vendors, and a chance to meet other people that are into retro fashion. They encourage everyone to wear their best (rated PG-13 or below) retro fits, especially if they are pajamas.

First Friday Art Trail

September 1st is not only the first day of the month but also the first Friday of the month, meaning that downtown Lubbock will come to life with the monthly First Friday Art Trail. Something special about this month’s trail is that a local dance group known as Social Dance Lubbock will be doing a swing dance performance in the Plaza.

The Plaza is located outside of LHUCA, across the street from the C.A.S.P. Studios. Up on the outdoor stage, the dance performance happening from 6:00 to 6:45 will be followed by performances from the Verbeten Trio and Jeremy Couture.
