Lubbock McDonald’s Goes Viral For Compassionate Care Of Child During Medical Event

A local Lubbock McDonald's is going viral- but for a reason that will warm your heart.

Normally, when we hear about a fast food location going viral, we immediately think of negative, dark, or at least buckwild happenings at that location. Remember the great Texas Waffle House Brawl of 2022?

What Happened At The Lubbock McDonald's On 34th Street?

Interestingly, the McDonald's on 34th & Quaker has had other noteworthy events in its history, including a big police standoff in 2019 that I happened to drive by, which frightened me.

I believe that the event was resolved with no one getting hurt, and it was in no way McDonald's responsibility.

The Great Crew On 34th & Quaker's McDonald's

According to a screencaptured post on Lubbock County Mugshots, a local parent (who is left anonymous in the post) wanted to thank and publicly acknowledge the efforts of the day crew at this McDonald's location, as their compassionate and level-headed response to a medical event helped to save the day.

The parent had pulled up to purchase a meal for their child on the way to the doctor, as the child had been running a fever. When they got there, the parent noticed the child having a serious seizure in the backseat.

The parent was too frantic and shaking to unlock their phone, so they ran into the McDonald's with the child to ask an employee to call 911.

The McDonald's employees assisted with the child and helped the parent manage the situation until medical help could arrive. The parent described the crew as "angels" and wanted to thank them for holding it together during a very frightening experience.

I love to hear positive stories like this one. The truth is, many Lubbock folks are angels on earth. And the crew at this restaurant are clearly among the best.
