Yet another chain restaurant has called it quits in Lubbock. This time, in a category I would not have expected.

According to a post by KLBK News, Logan's Roadhouse has permanently closed. The news site published photos showing closed signs on the establishment's doors.

Lubbock unable to support a steak restaurant? That seems ludicrous. However, it has been a very tough year for all restaurants, especially chains.

So what went wrong with Logan's?

We can't ignore the world's largest elephant in the room—Lubbock has the world's largest Texas Roadhouse.

In addition to being enormous, that place is also run like a machine—I've never had an issue getting a table and my food in a reasonable amount of time. It couldn't have been easy to compete with that.

Also, Lubbock is home to several other steakhouse chains and several amazing local steak options, like Triple J Chophouse, Cagle's, and Double Nickle.

Also, if you look at the comments on the Facebook post, many Lubbockites (some of whom I know and trust very much) have left some "good riddances" based on their experiences there.

I’m honestly surprised that it lasted as long as it did. Every time I went, the food and service was terrible.

I really tried to support them, however, too many bad experiences. Texas Roadhouse never disappoints

Still others expressed support for the restaurant, saying they loved it and will miss it.

We have eaten there the last 15 yr usually on Sunday afternoons, no problem with the steak, salad, tea or being waited on

Personally, I cannot speak to the quality or lack thereof, as I never once ate there. As I said, too many fantastic local options.

Regardless if the restaurant itself is a loss or not, it really stinks that the people who were employed there are now suddenly without jobs. Here's hoping they land stable, reliable, and well-paying jobs soon (if they haven't already).
