Is the Occupy Lubbock Movement News? Mayor Tom Martin Says No
“To me it’s a non-story.”
That was the reaction of Mayor Tom Martin on Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, when asked about the Occupy Lubbock movement. That’s a much smaller version of the Occupy Wall Street event.
Martin said he has had no contact with those who are participating in the Lubbock version. The mayor, a former member of the media, seemed to poke fun at the local news coverage of the Occupy Lubbock event.
“In this age of media, I guess anybody that’s mad about anything is a story,” Martin said.
