A man from Houston was recently sentenced to four decades in federal prison after being found guilty of drug trafficking and an involvement in a meth conspiracy.

Kendal Monzon Jr. Escaping Police in Texas

On November 24, 2020, law enforcement in South Texas conducted a traffic stop on 25-year-old Kendal Alejandro Monzon Jr. When officers attempted to pull Monzon over, he fled in his vehicle at 90 mph through residential neighborhoods, a release from the Texas Department of Justice reports.

Monzon ran multiple red lights before crashing into a law enforcement vehicle. After being placed into custody, cops on the scene discovered 15 cylinders wrapped in plastic containing 17,234 grams of methamphetamine.

An investigation was opened and another seizure linked to Monzon was made shortly thereafter. This included a list of illegal goods, including the following:

Several of the weapons detained by authorities were seen to have been attached with silencers and modified to be fully automatic.

DEA Houston posted to X following the seizure of Monzon's firearms:


When authorities obtained a warrant to search Monzon's residence, they found an additional 47 kilograms of meth, 112.7 grams of heroin, 39.9 kilograms of marijuana, and 13.7 kilograms of Promethazine with Codeine.

Kendal Alejandro Monzon Jr. Gets 40 Years

Kendal Monzon Jr. pleaded guilty on April 18, 2025, for his role in a massive drug-trafficking scheme that included heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, and large cash amounts across various Texas ports of entry.

U.S. District Judge Charles Eskridge has ordered Monzon serve 480 months in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release.

Monzon will remain in custody until his transfer to a designated prison facility is determined.
