It's a brand new year and the weather is, well not great here in Lubbock and across Texas temperatures are about to fall. Winter in Texas is here and for many, fishing is one of the last things on their minds when thinking about any type of outdoor activity this time of year.

But is fishing this time of year that bad?

According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Fishing Report, if you can deal with the cooler temperatures and the weather is good, fishing this time of year can be rewarding.

Each week, Texas Parks and Wildlife releases a new report on fishing conditions around Texas. These are great reports from people who fish the lakes and know the real conditions. Here are just a few of the reports from the panhandle/south plains region this week.
