Google has recently announced that they will be building a physical store in Texas, adding to their already five brick-and-mortar shops across the country.

Google Store in Texas

The website states that the new location, being built on 11701 Domain Blvd in Austin, is "Coming Soon". Even though we don't know the exact time it will be built, we do know that there are five established Google stores already in America:

  • Oakbrook, Illinois
  • Newbury St, Boston
  • Mountain View, California
  • Williamsburg, Brooklyn
  • Chelsea, New York
  • Coming Soon - Santa Monica

Austin is quickly becoming Texas' technology hub, as it is home to many top tech companies like Canva, AlertMedia, Braze and BigCommerce.

Google in Texas

This isn't Google's first stint in the Lone Star State, as recently in 2024, SB Energy partnered with the tech giant for creating clean energy for Google's data centers in Texas.

At the time, Google's VP of 24x7 & Capacity Ben Sloss voiced Google's joy in working with the energy company. " Google's data centers house some of the world's most popular services and are a major economic engine for 21st century business." He added that their goal is to provide "reliable carbon-free energy around-the-clock."

Current Google store locations are known to sell products like Pixel phones, Chromebooks, Nests and even Fitbits, according to Chron. They can also offer support for customers while showcasing new products and technology to the public.

On a side note, some of the most common questions run through Google's search engine in Texas are... interesting, to say the least. For example, we have innocent submissions like "Where is the internet?" Or "Why is Texas the best state in the country?"

Then, you have the other side... "How to sell your soul" and "Why do fools fall in love?" Why Texans are wondering about the lyrics to a 1956 hit song by Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers is beyond me. But hey, you do you.
