A Lubbock-area school district has received another statewide award.

For the fifth year in a row, Frenship Independent School District has received the highest-possible award level for its financial transparency efforts.

The award comes from the Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle program, and the fifth award marks a new milestone for the district.

Due to their financial transparency efforts, Frenship ISD joins the inaugural class of the Platinum Seal Award.

The district earned the Platinum Seal Award by scoring 22 of 22 possible points on the Comptroller’s ratings criteria.

The Texas Comptroller’s Office launched the Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle program in late 2009 to recognize local governments across Texas that strives to meet a high standard for online financial transparency.

Prior to 2014, Frenship had received the Gold Seal Award, which was the highest available award since the Leadership Circle’s creation.
