Frenship ISD and Law Enforcement Investigate Social Media Threats
Only three days after a lockdown of Frenship High School, Lubbock police are investigating possible new threats.
On Friday, Dec. 1, the Lubbock Police Department received multiple reports of a person wearing a ski mask and possessing gun on the Frenship High School campus.
A lockdown of the school followed and two SWAT teams were called to Frenship High School, but police never found a potential shooter or a weapon, eventually calling the incident a "dangerous prank."
Three students were later taken into custody for possible involvement in actions that led to the lockdown.
Now, Frenship ISD is concerned over rumors circulating on social media of a possible planned shooting to occur at Frenship High School on Thursday or Friday (Dec. 7 or 8).
Not many other details have been given regarding the supposed threats, but KAMC News is reporting that one specific threat was spread on the social media platform Snapchat.
Frenship ISD is assuring parents, students, and the community that law enforcement is looking closely at the possible threats.
Despite the rumors, classes for Thursday are scheduled as normal.
