The Free Market Institute at Texas Tech University will host a seminar for high school students June 20-23. The program, The Economic Way: What Promotes Economic Prosperity? is the third edition of the seminar according to the event's website. The goal of the program is to reach students in high school who are interested in free markets, the economy, and prosperity.

The program features a series of lectures, discussions, and activities. Participants also have opportunities to learn more about the resources that are available to students, who enroll in undergraduate courses of study at Texas Tech University.

Dr. Ben Powell with the Free Market Institute joined The Chad Hasty Show on Thursday to discuss the seminar and gave more information on what students will learn.

The cost of the seminar is $75 per student and covers all meals and materials. Students from outside of Lubbock will be required to stay in a student dorm and those can be requested on a first come, first serve basis. The Free Market Institute is also offering scholarships for some students.

The deadline to register is Thursday, though some arrangements could be made if the Free Market Institute is contacted by Friday. You can reach the Free Market Institute by calling 806-742-7138.
