Free Fishing Day In Texas Is June 3
Get those rods and reels ready, free fishing day in Texas is coming up soon and you won't want to miss out.
Each year in Texas on the first Saturday of June, everyone in the state can fish with or without a fishing license which makes fishing that day, "free". This year the date for free fishing is Saturday, June 3.
One thing to remember? Free Fishing Day only applies to public bodies of water. That means there is no free fishing in the Gulf of Mexico or in a private pond.
Free Fishing Day is a great opportunity to get with friends and family and head out to the lake and even maybe introduce someone to the sport of fishing.
And don't forget, there are over 70 Texas State Parks where you can always fish without a license according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife website.
“Free Fishing in State Parks” is an effort to encourage both adults and youth to discover the excitement and joys of fishing. To encourage this, fishing licenses will not be required of anyone fishing within the boundaries of any state park.
You can get more information on where and when you can fish for free on the Texas Parks and Wildlife website.
