Fourth Suspect in Lubbock Drive-By Shooting Turns Himself In
A fourth suspect in a drive-by shooting that occurred in June 2018 in East Lubbock is in police custody. Nineteen-year-old Sabastian Mitchell turned himself into Lubbock Police on Monday, June 18.
Mitchell has been charged with aggravated assault in connection with a drive-by shooting on June 7th near the intersection of 37th Street and Avenue U. One 16-year-old girl was seriously injured in the shooting, where a car with four suspects drove by and sprayed bullets at a group of people standing outside.
Eighteen-year-old Deangiilo Hill, 17-year-old Treveon Tyler, and 17-year-old Malachi Peppers were also been arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Tyler faces an additional charge of possession of a stolen firearm.
The fourth, and potentially last suspect in the case, Sabastian Mitchell, remains in custody at the Lubbock County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond. A motive for the shooting has not yet been detailed by police.
